Library
The main objective is to make the Library the most efficient Learning Resource Center to contribute to the quality of higher education. The College has a well-stocked computerized library with a good collection of books, journals and magazines. It is managed and run by a competent Librarian. The reference section is open during College hours. The Library has adequate facilities for the purpose of reading by the students and teachers.
Canteen
The College has a nice Canteen within the campus which offers many different types of delicacies. A lot of serious discussion also happens here on topics of serious interest..
Hostel
The College provides Hostel facilities for boys and girls studying Degree Honors Courses only. There are limited seats available. For detailed information please contact the Principal and Warden of Synod College Boys and Girls Hostel.
Gym
The College also provides Gym facilities that has all the necessary equipment for your fitness routine.

The NCC in the College was started in the year 1977. Students can join either NCC or NSS while they are students in the College.

YOUTH RED CROSS, SYNOD COLLEGE, SHILLONG
Youth Red Cross, Synod College, Shillong was Inaugurated by Mr. River Wahlang, (Retired IFS) Vice Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Meghalaya State Branch on the 12th September 2019 in the Conference Hall of the College in the presence of Mrs. Diana Kharshiing, General Secretary, IRCS, Meghalaya State Branch, Principal, Vice-Principal, Teachers and students.
About IRCS
The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) is a voluntary humanitarian organization established in 1920 with a network of over 1100 branches throughout the country, providing relief in disasters/emergencies and promoting the health and care of vulnerable people and communities. It is a leading member of the largest independent humanitarian organization in the world. The mission of the IRCS is to inspire, encourage and initiate at all times all forms of humanitarian activities so that human suffering can be minimized and even prevented and thus contribute to creating a more congenial climate for peace.Objectives
- Blood Donation.
- Train Community Volunteers in First Aid.
- Response during disaster like earthquake, landslide etc.
- Cooperate with State and District Authority in relief work.
- Training of Youth for Social responsibility.
- Organizing free Medical Health Camp.
Programs Conducted
- Participated in the Annual program organized by the Indian Red Cross Meghalaya State Branch on 12th March 2020 at Bharat Scouts and Guides headquarters.
- Conducted an Awareness program in First Aid and Blood Donation on the 22nd September 2022 at Nongkhlaw. The Resource person was Smt. Amelia Swer, Vice Chairman (Estt, IRCS, Meghalaya State Branch).
- Conducted an Awareness programme on First Aid and Blood Donation on the 22nd September 2022 at Kynrud village. The Resource person was Smt. Amelia Swer, Vice Chairman (Estt, IRCS, Meghalaya. State Branch). On the occasion we distributed 350 Hygine kits, 350 Blankets and 350 Household utensils sponsored the IRCS, Meghalaya State Branch.
- Adoption of Kynrud Village and signing of Memorandom. of Understanding between Youth Red Cross, Society Synod College Jaiaw Lumdiengjri Shillong and Kynrud Village, Eastern West Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya on 22nd September 2022.
- Participated in the World Red Cross Day held at the Raj Bhavan on the 8th May 2023.
