Department of Sociology

The Department was introduced in the college in the year 1993 with two teachers namely Smt. A. R. Pariat and Smt. R. J.Nongrum. R.J. Nongrum left the department after serving for sometime and is currently HoD Sociology Department Lady Keane College Shillong. Dr. (Mrs) M. Lyngdoh then joined the Department in 1996 and left to join World Vision, Guwahati as Manager Project. Later Mr. P. Diengdoh joined the department in 2005 followed by Smt. D. C. Syiemin 2007. Smt. C. Kharsyntiewthen joined the department in 2009 and Smt. M. N. Laloo joined the department in 2015. The Department from 1993 to 2006 has been running general classes both morning and the day section. From 2006 onwards both honours and general classes have been conducted. From 2015 the semester course along with the annual system has been going on simultaneously.
